It was another successful year at the Treasure Island Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Tax Site! With the help of five trained volunteers, over 173 tax returns were prepared which yielded over $240,000.00 in tax refund.

As well, thank you for stepping up the Saver’s Challenge again this year. We saw a significant increase in the number of clients who saved a portion of their refund - there were 34 savers who saved over $48,000.00. This is impressive!

To encourage clients to save a portion of their refund, in addition to the United Way free saver’s gifts, TIHDI had its own savers raffle challenge. And this year again, we raffled off a tablet, $100 Target gift card and a $50 Safeway card. Names of winners listed below…
