Gary Victoria

Gary Victoria and his wife have lived on Treasure Island for the past 10 years with their 5 children. Prior to that he was living in a drug rehab program when his wife heard about an opportunity to live on Treasure Island. He says “The Island has given me a clean and safe environment to raise my family, with the tranquility we needed to escape the street violence and stress.” They utilize all of the resources offered here on the island such as the food pantry, computer services, and they also volunteer consistently.

Prior to being involved with TIHDI, Gary was working odd jobs here and there, and dead end jobs with no intention of long term or a career track jobs.

Through TIHDI Job Broker System, he was able to access a good permanent job with a pension plan and a career track. “TIHDI has provided me with the long term support I needed until I became job ready.” Says Gary. Being gainfully employed has allowed him to be a role model to his kids, and a provider. TIHDI financial and employment services has helped him with his child support and access a bank account and he is now saving money and happier.
