Treasure Island Homeless Development Initiative hosted The Magic of Treasure Island, Celebrating an Island of Opportunity on October 19, 2017. During this event TIHDI honored the Treasure Island Development Authority Board & its members for its consistent leadership and support for an inclusive vision for Treasure Island that celebrates diversity and offers opportunity for all.
TIHDI and United Way offer Free tax preparation services to low income San Francisco residents in our Ship Shape Community Center.
Treasure Island is underway of a massive redevelopment where 8,000 units of housing will be created, and 1,000’s of new jobs. In an effort to meet the demand of labor TIHDI has created a private / public partnership to design and implement a Construction Training Pilot program.
Working with CityBuild, TIHDI is recruiting and preparing the construction workforce to assist employers in meeting their 25% economically disadvantaged hiring goal. This is a tremendous opportunity to help people with barriers to employment obtain careers that pay living wages.
